"The kids loved the pool facilities. Miss Tandin and Me Shyam on the desk were particularly helpful. They arranged to meet our needs with a pleasant smile. The room service was excellent and well trained. Thank you all"

The location was a little to the edge of the city but that may be a good thing for some looking for peace & quiet. The decor is a bit dated

prezzi di bar, servizio buffet per la cena, ristorante, assolutamente sproporzionati. Cenato fuori quasi sempre e dopo il primo giorno all'arrivo, più preso niente al bar. La sera al ristorante a buffet si rischia come è successo a noi di fare la cosa di 20 minuti per potersi sedere

"Bella struttura posizionata sul più bel tratto di spiaggia di Grace Bay, a sud la spiaggia si restringe molto e risulta affollata. La stanza è un appartamento molto ampio con due stanze e due bagni con tutte le stanze che vedono il mare, anche se non sono beach front."

Da migliorare l’offerta del cibo, non la qualità, che risulta molto ripetitivo soprattutto a pranzo; la chiusura alternata dei ristoranti la sera non favorisce gli ospiti nella scelta dei pasti.

"I have never been to a Taj before, so I have nothing to compare it to. The lobby is impressive and the location with direct access to the beach is great. The staff is lovely and the housekeeping do so much for you, Saudtha I believe, checked on us regularly and brought us more water or towels."

When a twin is converted into a double room, one of the guests end up without space to put their things and the light switches are at the wrong place.

Sicuramente la logistica per capire dove rivolgersi una volta arrivati, la struttura è talmente grande che si rischia di perdersi e perdere tempo per cercare aiuto da parte del personale. Bisogna dire che siamo arrivati di sera, quindi con il buio che ha complicato le cose, ma con un pò di buona volontà abbiamo aggirato l'ostacolo e una volta capito, tutto si è semplificato. Siamo stati bene, grazie.

non mi e piaciuto lo spreco alimentare che fanno le persone veramenete disgustoso solo perche non pagano il cibo si riempiono piattie vanzano cibo poi da buttare pero' la struttura non centra ci vorrebbe un reposnsabile che spiegasse a queste persone che il cibo non va sprecato che e sempre disponibile per tutti.

"Great property to relax in after a trek! Good food, staff were lovely and I enjoyed the serenity considering it is in Kathmandu."

A little tired in places - could do with a bit of a spruce up such as a lick of paint on all the walls, new carpets in the common areas (stairs) etc. Seemed to be a lot of staff but not a lot of guests (although the staff were lovely).

Il cibo.. un po' per la difficoltà a reperire materie di buona qualità, un po per la scarsa fantasia degli chef... diventa monotono. L'animazione Italiana veramente penosa a confronto di quella portoghese solo la mattina e freccette, bocce, pallavolo, carte.. Paragonarle sarebbe come vedere una recita di 5 elementare contro il Circ Du Soleil.. Imbarazzante!

"The villa had great privacy, beautiful landscaping, a good layout for our group. It was well-equipped with essentials for cooking/serving. The salt pool was perfect for cooling off after a hike. It was just big enough and always seemed to be at the right temperature. We were delighted by fireflies, tree frogs, bats, local birds, and even a shy ginger cat that wandered past once or twice."

THE ROAD- while we expected a rough access road from reading previous reviews, the construction during our stay detoured us through the banana plantation over an intolerably (for anyone with neck/back problems) rough track that was 4x longer. While the ocean (not a swimming beach) is close enough to hear, there is not much view. It is a peek from one corner of the pool deck, and the upper bedroom. But again, wonderful privacy. Also of note- there are no bug screens on the windows. It was perhaps an assumption on our part with the newer construction, but the mosquitoes did cause some distress, especially for one member of our group. Bring bug spray, After-Bite (anti-itch), and Benadryl if you are prone to reactions.

Only couple of persons spoke english. Several restaurants in hotel, but you could only book online with one. When you come to hotel everything is in spanish, luckily I had colleague who could speak spanish so he was able to translate how to book breakfast, lunches and dinners etc.

"Just generally one of those special places that will stick in my memory forever. A collection of pretty little cabins by the beach surrounded by palm trees with hammocks slung between them for whiling away the days. With only the sounds of birds and waves. Where everyone just hangs out and chats, the staff, the other guests, the extremely interesting and gregarious owner Gregory (no pun intended). I could spend a week here just forgetting about the outside world. The various arrangements (airport transfer, transfer back to town, activities) all went smoothly as well. Which is my no means guaranteed in this part of the world."

Not much but if I went again I'd maybe pay a little more for the room with ensuite shower rather than sharing a communal shower with non locking door. Obviously this is budget accommodation in West Africa so it's of the rustic eco lodge variety rather than the western style hotel room variety in case anyone is expecting that.

"The location is right in the heart of Georgetown, within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. The accommodation is beautifully designed,easily the best I’ve seen in Penang. The staff were incredibly friendly and always made sure we were well taken care of."

If I were to nitpick, the dinner menu could be a bit more interesting. Other than that, everything was great.

"The location is excellent, right on the beach with reef full of fish, turtles within easy reach. Staff was very helpfull dealing with our canceled flight and helping us find alternative way back to Noumea."

We visited in rainy season season so we got stuck in the room one whole day. Facilities are a bit tired and could do with refreshment.

"Exceptional site and lovely beaches & swimming pools with good restaurants"

The fact that, despite the heat, rooms were not supplied with drinking water & this had to be ordered from room service at $5 a small bottle. We had just arrived from staying at the Hamilton Princess hotel in Bermuda &, as is normal for luxury hotels of this standard, that had no problem in supplying drinking water to guests free of charge.

"Magic Reef is a beautiful resort, very relaxing. The bungalows are well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. It was also great to have our own comfortable lounge chairs on the deck to take in the views out over the reef, watching the waves crashing and the sun setting which was all simply breathtaking. There are a few really good restaurants within walking distance down the beach, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing time. We hired a car for a couple of days to explore around the island, enjoy some beach swimming, snorkeling and to eat at some different restaurants. The pool was great, lovely temperature and depth. Our hosts and all the staff were friendly, helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. Thanks for the beautiful platter in the fridge, the beers, juice etc which was so appreciated. We would highly recommend Magic Reef if you like a small boutique resort."
