"The location is great, it’s just a short drive away from the national park. The room is very cosy and clean. The host is incredible and very generous. He really takes care of his guests in every way and makes sure, you‘re always taken good care of. I can also recommend this place as very safe for solo female travelers. The food is authentic, home cooked and super tasty. It’s just a really lovely and welcoming family :)"

Palazzo senza ascensore abbastanza fatiscente, zona rumorosa (ma ci sta essendo in centro), attenzione alla scala che non ha balaustre.

"Very cozy place owned by an incredibly friendly and welcoming family. Breakfast was included in the price and it was always absolutely delicious — thanks to them, I had the chance to try several traditional Sri Lankan dishes I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Whenever I needed anything, they were quick to help and always took care of everything with a smile. Their hospitality truly made my stay feel special and comfortable. Thank you once again for such a warm and memorable experience!"

The place is located a bit farther from the main areas, so you’ll need to walk a few kilometers, take a tuk-tuk, or have your own vehicle. However, there is a small convenience shop right next to the accommodation, which is handy if you need anything. If you’re sensitive to noise at night, it might be an issue — though that’s quite common for most hostels and village houses in Sri Lanka.

"The host was super nice, she even helped me out to find locations in the city, the house was very clean, quiet and comfy. I would totally recommend it to everyone, i also want to mention that the house is historical. Would totally come back❤️❤️"

I can’t even mention one thing that i didn’t like

"Central quiet location close to all services cafes restaurants shops. Clean full facilities in unit."

Took a little time for hot water from gas heater into shower.

Missed an on-site restaurant and had to drive almost six kms away for decent breakfast. The Wifi could be better. The approach road is accessible only by a off roader 4x4.

"What a great surprise this find is, staying with a local community and eating the traditional food ,only 25mins walk to a private beach and 10min walk to the ash fields . Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. And all being close to the volcano and hot springs and the hosts will arrange any other activities and transports needed , This is the real deal don't miss out . Ps look after Max well we will return ."

Genuine village stay

Nach der Bitumen mußten wir ungefähr 500m in einer nicht bitumierte Straße. Leider sind nicht alle Straßen in Yaoundé mit Bitumen

"Communication was quick and helpful. The room was a reasonable size and the bed comfortable. The area was excellent with metro, shops and restaurants all very close by."

I didn't not like anything, but a knife to cut things with would have been useful and maybe mugs for tea/coffee as there were only some small paper cups.

"Casetta pulitissima e accogliente con posteggio sottostante. Lavatrice ed asciugatrice disponibili Il villaggio ha una vista spettacolare sul fiordo e la montagna sovrastante. Assolutamente da consigliare"

Boiler troppo piccolo, per cui si ha acqua calda solo per una manciata di minuti.

"Struttura pulita, l'appartamento è grande e spazioso; il gestore molto gentile e disponibile ci ha preparato anche un'ottima cena e mi ha permesso di usare la cucina per fare da mangiare alla mia bimba di un anno. Abbiamo conosciuto anche Aymen, un ragazzo del posto che la mattina ci ha fatto da guida per la città vecchia."

Purtroppo essendo gennaio l'appartamento era freddo e non è abbastanza riscaldato ma con temperature più miti è perfetto!

"Apartmány nad Otavou Huge apartment in a very good price. Note that google maps will bring you to a police station, the apartment entrance will be at the left side of police station building. Pros ==== • Excellent location • Reasonable price • Good value for money • Free parking • Clean apartment • Clean linens • Very large apartment • Comfortable beds • Good service • Kitchenette • Lots of electrical outlets in the rooms • Electric kettle • Fridge • Pleasant bathroom • Night lights by the beds"

Disadvantages i============ • No breakfast • No AC but it wasn't an issue since we came on Sep • Stairs and no elevator but only 1 floor • Diminished lighting in room * No light in the parking entrance is very dark at night

There was no local stores near by, it can look a little remote especially at night.

L'appartamento è decisamente trascurato nell'arredamento, vecchiotto e rovinato, necessita di una rivisitazione complessiva. . Poca e rovinata l'attrezzatura da cucina. Piuttosto sporco.

"Loved our host. Went above and beyond for us. She was great with our kids. Helped with a hire car and even dropped around some food."

Very minor but would be nice to have hot water from the tap in the sink to wash dishes. We could get hot water from the shower or put the kettle on to do dishes with.
