"Patricia (the Manager) was very helpful and service minded. Breakfast is included in the price, and the hotel has a laundry service. Tasty dishes from Sierra Leone are served, the selection is somewhat limited and must be ordered at least 1 hour in advance. The hotel location is OK, but things are a bit far. Freetown is a city where it is difficult to find a good location at a decent price. I think the beds were too soft, and soundproofing is not good in the older building, you hear traffic noise from the street and other hotel guests outside the room. There are pictures of a new building on Booking, but the building was not completed when I was there."

"The hotel helped me book a private car with a driver to Monrovia, Liberia. However, the company suddenly wanted to have gasolin money on top of the agreed price on 400 USD, and I was dumped off at the border (the agreement was that they would take me all the way to Monrovia), so the trip became 100 USD more than agreed (500 USD in total). However, there are also daily larger buses (SDS) from Freetown to Monrovia for 30 USD per person, which the hotel should be aware of (however, you cannot find information about this on "Rome2Rio"). I could have saved over $400 if I had known about it in advance. The overpricing also applied to local taxis / tricycles provided by the hotel, where you ended up paying the "tourist price"."

"Great local accomodation with a lovely stylish aunty running the place. It was clean and safe. The price quality was great. Nice choice of breakfast as well."

"Good location, clean rooms, no mosquitos and friendly host who will gave you all infos about city. Breakfast was simple but nice and fresh and ginger guava fresh juice was amazing!"

"Fantastic staff, great A/C, very accommodating to let me check out late to catch my 2am flight. Most importantly, they have 24/7 electricity, which is quite rare for a hotel in Freetown."

"Jam Lodge is the perfect choice for a stay in Freetown. Conveniently located, it has all necessary amenities: Clean, spacious rooms with a/c, comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom, fridge microwave etc. Surprisingly, my room was the quietest I ever had in Salone. Staff is friendly, a good breakfast is served on the balcony and Wi-Fi works well. And you can pay with credit card which I found extremely helpful."

"It cost a bit more than other properties I have stayed on my African trip but was well worth few extra $ for a comfort that's comparable to a decent 3-star hotel. Bed was huge and comfy, AC worked well, good dinner on-site and nice view over Freetown. Convenient location next to a major junction (Congo Cross) so you can easily hop-on on keke (tuk-tuk) - every driver knows it. I actually walked 15-20min from a pier of the airport boat. Friendly staff, explained me very well how to get to my next destination in SL."
