Dating back to 1640, this 9th generation family-run boutique hotel is Norway’s oldest. The albergo is surrounded by a romantic garden in the idyllic village of Solvorn. It offers elegant rooms and beautiful views of Lustrafjord and its mountains. Walaker Pensione’s unique rooms create an old-world charm with their antique furniture, high ceilings and decorative curtains. The 12th-century Urnes Stave Church is a 30-minute ferry ride away. Other popular activities in the surrounding region include kayaking, fishing, RIB boat tours, scenic hikes, and a variety of fjord experiences.

"The hotel is situated in a tiny picturesque village from the late 19th century by the Luster fjord, overlooking a fantastic view. It has Norway’s best breakfast with everything you may wish, and fantastic service. For extra luxury, enjoy a wonderful 4-course dinner prepared by some of our best chefs, followed by a drink and coffee in the garden. We stayed in one of the modern rooms, which has plenty of space and a nice porch on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. This is a must see for everyone who just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. It’s not cheap, but it’s with it."
