Lodge in Islanda

"This property was tucked away in the rain forest. Alejandro was exceptional, his knowledge of nature and the beneficial properties of plants from his garden which he had specifically grown was like having a professor with us all the time. He and His wife Christiana also incorporated some of the fruit and vegetables into our stunning breakfasts which were freshly prepared each morning.. Alejandro was incredibly helpful booking restaurants. He always greeted us with a smile and was a perfect host. We felt perfectly relaxed by the end of the stay."

Would have liked more light, and water pressure but to be honest we didn’t mention it to him so he could fix it.

"We were generously upgraded to the Langakali house from the Heilala initially booked at no extra charge. This worked out perfect having the extra bathroom. The house was easily accessible on our arrival with overall good communication from the renters. Nina was beautiful and did countless loads of washing for us with no hesitation included in the accomodation price. Green Lodge is close proximity to town and our families village so was a prime location for us. Screens on doors and windows were a plus, coils and basic toiletries and essentials were provided and ample storage throughout. A quiet area that felt very safe. Style of the house is older, but comfortable enough, we felt at home being here."

Although screens were throughout, you will still need repellent and extra coils. The ensuite bathroom toilet wouldn’t always flush properly and the wifi wasn’t working. It would be a plus to have one more fan in the third bedroom of the Langakali house and

"Arrivare a Pico Bonito è come entrare in un piccolo paradiso terrestre. L'ambiente è pacifico e silenzioso. I colibrì saranno i vostri compagni di viaggio, insieme a tante altre specie animali. Il personale è premuroso e sempre disponibile. Una delle mie cose preferite è la colazione, soprattutto la marmellata all'ananas!! è uno dei nostri posti preferiti al mondo!"

Migliorerei la strada che porta al Lodge, ancora sterrata.

"I loved that it was nestled in its own private space. There are 4 lodges in the vicinity and all have their own balcony’s that you can enjoy individually. Our water pressure was great. Also the unit was nice and clean."

Nothing: We actually didn’t book the transfers cause we had another vehicle organised however that fell through. But mama let us go first to the lodge and she’d wait at the airport. Lucky she got a ride back home from the family at airport. She has an immense amount of responsibility and knowledge of the island. As a local to Rarotonga people like her are very rare to be around. I am so grateful to have had crossed paths with her. Na te Atua I tauturu iakoe e Mama Manarangi. Maroiroi koe I toou oraanga. Meitaki atupaka kiakoe no te akonoanga ia tatou.

"Beautiful views of Apia. We literally had the whole place to ourselves. It provided a calm quiet space that we didn't expect."

Unfortunately there were a few minor issues when we arrived, that eventually got sorted. Given the circumstances of the week prior & sending our condolences to the family, I'm not surprised things were a little off the mark. A broom in the unit be great to keep the floors free of bugs & dirt. We still loved our stay regardless.

"Breakfast was fine - just remember to inform the owner the day before if you require breakfast. Ingrid, the co-owner, is a lovely woman and a fine, traditional cook. You will never leave the table hungry! Whilst she can offer beer at an extra cost, we tended to buy our own along with wine to drink at dinner. Again, you will need to inform Ingrid on the day if you require dinner later. There is no choice; me and my wife are both omnivores with no allergies or intollerances, and always liked what she prepared! Our lodge was spacious with a generous deck overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the sea in the background."

A small fridge in our lodge would have been a great bonus - however, we were free to use Ingrid's fridge. The shower was also a little on the dribbly side!

"Nalazi se na savrsenom mestu sa jako lepom plazom. Bungalovi su skromni ali ok. Postoji opcija klime ali mora ranije da se najavi! Hrana je izvrsna, imaju jako zanimljive izlete po ok cenama. Odlazak na kornjace ne treba propustiti!!! Osoblje je sjajno."

"Bella struttura un po' fuori centro ma con splendida vista e posizione tranquilla. Staff accogliente e cortese che ci ha veramente coccolato. Stanza ampia e pulita e tranquilla. Ottima la colazione che si può scegliere fra diverse formule. Si pzo cenare e il menù è tipico e i piatti ben cucinati. Possibili diverse escursioni in zona su sentieri ben segnati. In estate un luogo fresco anche in periodi molto caldi. Consigliabile certamente"

Occorrerebbe un cartello che lo segnali dal parcheggio principale di Popova. Google lo indica in modo errato.

"Great location at the South side of Song Kul lake. Breakfast was tasty and plenty. You can also get (packed) lunches and dinner. Phone reception is good and you can charge your phone in the evening in the main yurt. Stayed for two nights there. So peaceful and relaxing. Loved it!"

"Great location and the scenery was beautiful. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Located on hill tops and the views were amazing! Perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. Surrounded by trees and was entertained by monkeys swinging through the branches. The rooms were also very spacious and allowed a comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient and meals were delivered to the room. Staff were very accommodating and overall had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay."

"This experience was amazing being in nature while having a luxurious living space is a rare combination moreover we got to enjoy this wonderfull experience without any bugs this is one off the many positive sides of this compound I really recommend it especially for large groups and kids as the environment is kids friendly with emotional support animals like golden retrievers"

Il bagno senza doccia separata dal wc è un po' scomodo

"I had an excellent stay at Top Lodge, certainly, an improvement from my previous stays here. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, ensuring a warm welcome and attentive service throughout. The lodge itself was impeccably clean, and the pool area provided a perfect spot for relaxation. Additionally, the breakfast served at Top Lodge was simply delicious, and filling. Overall, I highly recommend Top Lodge for its friendly staff, cleanliness, delicious breakfast, reliable Wi-Fi, and inviting pool area."

"The tents with en-suite were great, really generous size and fantastic Mountain View’s"

It is 30 minutes on a very bumpy road from the gate to the national park and we were the only people to pass through each day. This end of the park is forest and scrub so very difficult to see game. There are not many roads in the park and almost no signage.

Would have been nice if pool had been heated - a bit cool in the late afternoon for a swim. Recognize this would differ seasonally.

"Exceptional environment, well-kept, among the trees, calm, peaceful. The cottages are built in such a way that they have a pleasant temperature without air conditioning or fans. At night, for the first time in Gambia, I had to cover myself with a duvet. The owner and staff were extremely kind, accommodating, unobtrusive."

"Tutto, posto meraviglioso, personale a dir poco perfetto, efficiente, sorridente, gentile. Penso che sia stato il miglior soggiorno della mia vita (e io viaggio molto). "Tende e struttura principale meravigliosamente arredate, personale super accogliente (un encomio speciale a Zied, grande professionista e gran bella persona), workshop e attività organizzate molto interessanti, a contatto con la natura, cibo servito eccezionale. Attenzione particolare a fare sentire gli ospiti in un ambiente protetto, senza orari prestabiliti per la cena e per la colazione... Un luogo dove prendersi del tempo, dove ascoltare i propri ritmi e staccare dalla frenesia della città."

La piscina era chiusa per manutenzione e non era segnalato da nessuna parte. Il prezzo è davvero molto molto alto, anche per lo standard europeo e nonostante il personale ci abbia omaggiati di alcuni workshop e un massaggio non so se vale veramente quanto costa.

"Stanza pulita, accogliente, molto caratteristica! Bagno spazioso con acqua calda e getto forte! Il proprietario è una persona deliziosa e molto disponibile, ci ha chiamato un taxi per tornare dalla città all hotel. La colazione è molto varia e buona! Molto caratteristico e particolare sistemazione. Lo consiglio!"

A 20 minuti dal centro città, ma con una piacevole passeggiata lungo lago si arriva a destinazione.

"Un posto spettacolare, immerso nella natura, ideale per chi ama il bird watching: è possibile osservare tantissime specie comodamente dal terrazzo di casa. Un’esperienza davvero unica!"

L’unico suggerimento riguarda la colazione: sarebbe utile poter indicare le proprie preferenze in anticipo, così da evitare sprechi. Per il resto, tutto impeccabile: ottima qualità-prezzo e un soggiorno che consiglio vivamente a chi cerca relax e contatto con la natura.

"Un servizio TOP. Il personale era molto professionale e gentile. Le tende erano comode ed accoglienti. Il Camp è ben posizionato lungo il fiume con ampi spazi verdi. Possibilità di fare 3 safari al giorno. Raccomandiamo in particolare quella della mattina con il Bush Breakfast. La nostra fantastica guida Dominic era molto competente e disponibile. Inoltre c’era la possibilità di attendere interessanti lezioni a fine giornata condotte da un giovane Masai sulla Fauna, Flora e Tradizioni locali."
