"La prima cosa che ci è piaciuta del Carey è l'accoglienza, a partire dal parcheggio di La Pavona, dove ci attendeva una persona per darci le prime indicazioni e guidarci. All'arrivo a Tortuguero un altro membro dello staff ci attendeva per farci strada. Arrivati al Carey abbiamo trovato una struttura pulita, in ordine, una camera spaziosa con bei letti. Tutto in forma essenziale ma perfetta. Colazione e cene super (oltretutto le cene sono state servite in 2 strutture differenti, offrendo ulteriore varietà). La piscina poi nella struttura adiacente è stata un toccasana dove la giornata di escursioni"

"Enjoyed everything here! Clean room with AC and friendly staff. Lodges are at the ‘end’ of the town (which is still only a 2mins walk from the centre) so I enjoyed the quiet here at night. Breakfast is good. The pool indeed is in the ‘hotel’ next door but you just gotta walk 50meters so I don’t see why people complain about it. In the average european hotel you gotta walk longer from your room to the pool. Humidity in the rooms is a thing indeed, but that’s just because of the weather. If you use the AC (which has drying mode too) it’s just fine."

"They changes our facility from Carey Lodging to Laos Amigos, which is adjacent (same owners). The places are equivalent but Lia Amigos has a pool which is nice when you come back from the excursions. The place is basic-comfortable, very close to the entrance of the National Park. Staff is super nice."

"The quadruple room was a bit tight and the bathroom a tad small. Next time we will book two rooms."

"Staff were really helpful with organising travel to/from Tortuguero - very competitive pricing Breakfast was included and very good - freshly cooked each morning Location was great - we had spider monkeys virtually walking overhead of the property and the town was within easy 5 mins walk, but the location was nice and quiet Room was cleaned every day"

"Shame the bar wasn't functioning - as it was raining quite a lot it would have been good to get a cold beer or glass of wine without having to go out in the evening"

"Location is great. Close proximity to beach and also the village centre. Set back from the main area of the village so peaceful at night time - apart from howler monkeys on occasion but that wasn’t a problem. Staff lovely and helpful. Accommodation spotlessly clean. Breakfast included which was lovely - choice of standard American breakfast of pancakes, eggs, toast and also Costa Rican rice and beans (I recommend this option - lovely). Pool available in sister lodge next door and free to use. Additional extras available to use at the property include battery lanterns, clothes steamer, hair dryers, free coffee and tea making facilities, water cooler, poncho for rain cover etc - this was needed on a couple of occasions. It would have been really great if wellington boots (rubber boots) are also available as the puddles around can get quite big and all the local residents wear wellies when raining - jungle paths etc can get quite muddy."

"Bathroom let the room down a bit. It could do with updating but this didn’t impact on function."

"Very friendly staff. They cleaned the room every day and made the beds so nice with the towels and set the stuffed animals on the beds. The children really liked that."

"The air conditioning was excellent and the shower was great. Our room was cleaned very well and there were plenty of towels. We were very happy whilst staying on the island."
