"Extremely friendly staff! Very nice surroundings, excellent location on the river. Delicious food with enormous portions. Simple, but clean and cozy. Fishing possibility on site."

"The Sailboat Ragamuffin is a unique experience. You are staying in a sailboat moored off of Water Island, where your hosts live after sailing the Caribbean for 30 years. They are a font of information and anecdotes about the US virgin islands and others. Jo is an accomplished chef and strives to give you the food types you desire. They pick you up by dinghy on the Crown Marina dock, and will take you by dinghy over to Water Island. In my case, I had two berths (bedrooms and bathrooms) on the boat, rocked to sleep by the rolling of the boat on the water. Don't miss going to water island, golf cart to Limestone Beach (coral reef) and Honeymoon Beach (the latter has turtles swimming around)"

The listing didn't make it quite clear what the accommodation would be - it described an apartment and a pool view. I thought it might be a houseboat on a dock. The pool view is the sea around the boat!

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

"La felluca era pulita, molto comoda e bellissima! Abbiamo viaggiato per due giorni con Capitano Gin Tonic e Mohamed: sono stati splendidi con noi, eccellenti professionisti e persone speciali che si prese cura di noi in ogni momento. Mohamed è un ottimo cuoco e il capitano ci ha portato a vedere un mercato dei cammelli molto interessante, il tempio di Kom Hombo."

Avremmo voluto fare più giorni con loro sulla felluca, è stato un viaggio speciale che porteremo nel cuore
