"Nice bungalow, very friendly owners with a great day tour to the volcano and some shared kava. Clean and well-maintained surrounding, directly on the beach. Also good food."

"Mark & Veronik are such nice hosts! Really helpful with how to get anywhere & options on what to do. The food was really yummy too & good pricing! It‘s close to the Blue Holes for snorkelling which you can reach by bus (200Vatu) & or do the trip to Blue Cave from Whitegrass Resort!"
"The only negative was that the drains from the shower started smelling bad as soon as you started showering."
"Breakfast was included and was lovely! They have a rotating menu board thing so they changed that basically every day, a few options per meal time. The staff helped us book our tours easily and were very friendly. The location is on the beach where there were some lovely rock pools. They have some cats and dogs, one of the cats was particularly friendly and would sit on your lap in the dining area."
"There was a day where we tried to order dinner earlier in the day as they requested but they weren’t there and then we didn’t see them again until about 7 pm where we were told we should have ordered earlier.. but they apologised for the misunderstanding and we still got dinner. Wifi only worked in the dining area when they put it out/ when you ask for it. But that wasn’t a big problem. They could probably do with some new pillows."

"The property is in a beautiful position, alongside gorgeous rock pools and stretches of ocean. The rooms were great, the food was yum, the water was hot, and the property is well maintained, with gorgeous greenery. Also cute cats. Theres a swimming beach a couple minute walk to the left of the rockpools if you want to dip, but overall, impressed!"
"The wifi is only limited to the reception, and it is rather slow, however it’s great if you want to be off your devices and relax in nature!"
"Amazing staff, accommodation was comfortable and they also prep meals and help plan tour activities. We had a few struggles during our stay but the hosts were always quick to resolve any complications. I would highly recommend Alofa and would happily stay here again, Tanna is very remote yet the value for this place was exceptional 10/10"

"The location is great, the family was really nice and welcoming. The bungalow was beautiful with a comfortable bed and a small terrace. You can reach the beach in a couple of minutes. Dinner is limited, but affordable and delicious - the owner prepared it for me after hours as I got back from my tour later. Breakfast was also nice, you can additionally order Tanna coffee."

"Malaki and his family were great hosts! Very helpful and friendly. Sorted out lots of things for us with no fuss, even though we booked last minute and had limited planning. We had some good laughs! Good view of volcano, and hear the rumbling! Simple and authentic ni-Van accommodation."

"The location and the view at the Castle Tree House Bungalow was amazing. You wake up and see the vulcano and even hear the sounds. The family of owner Mike is really kind and hospitable. There is a lot to do from the accommodation and Mike is happy to help you with planning or transportation. The stay was amazing!"

"What a great surprise this find is, staying with a local community and eating the traditional food ,only 25mins walk to a private beach and 10min walk to the ash fields . Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. And all being close to the volcano and hot springs and the hosts will arrange any other activities and transports needed , This is the real deal don't miss out . Ps look after Max well we will return ."

"- The location is great with absolutely fantastic snorkelling out the front (felt very safe and I’m not a strong swimmer) - use of Kayaks an added bonus - refreshing to cool off in the pool or relax in a hammock - the villas are clean and user friendly, very comfortable bed, excellent wifi and aircon highly valued -Michael is a champion with a friendly smile, excellent local knowledge and nothing we asked about was a hassle or too much trouble! (thanks so much for the coconuts!) -such a beautiful, Peaceful spot to relax Or explore! Thanks for having us!"
