"We spent wonderful time during our week at Hostel Xaxid. Duzan and Tina are great hosts, eager to talk and to help. Thanks to them, we felt like at home and learned a lot about Slovenia, Istria, and also about Duzan’s many passions (painting, geology…). He really put his heart into the renovation of the houses. We stayed at a separate house, but could use the tables in their courtyard for lovely apéritives and dinners outside. The place is great to enjoy a real Slovenian countryside experience, as they are old stone houses in a village in the mountains, with cocks singing in the morning and dark nights to observe the stars! It is also convenient to visit south west Slovenia (the coast, Piran, Izola, Postojna et Skocjan caves…) The house is simple but clean and confortable, great for a family."

"There are no shops or restaurants in the village or nearby, so you have to anticipate before getting there. The playground on the photo is nice with kids, it is a few minutes walk from the hostel (not immediately next to it). But it is minor commentaries ;-)"

"A very friendly owner Dusan, we were there for the second time and will probably return. Very close to many places in Italy and Slovenia, even Croatia. I strongly recommend it!"

"The place is a bit difficut to find/reach, but once you are there the environment compensates you. Dusan and his wife are wonderful and friendly people. The hostel is not luxurious, however the price/value ratio is perfect. The village is far from the busy cities, is very quiet, however should you decide to go to a restaurant you may find it within 7 kms. Alltogether I definitely recommend both the place and the owners."

"Tout était parfait: l'accueil de notre hôte, qui nous a donné beaucoup de conseils et ils nous a accueilli gentiment et avec un grand sourire. La maison était au top, elle ne manquait de rien, nous avions tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Endroit calme et paisible, facile à rejoindre en voiture et place pour se garer juste à côté. Ventilateur disponibles pour les journées chaudes , mais nous en avons même pas eu besoin , il y avait du vent qui faisait bien tourner l'air dans la maison. Nous le conseillons sans hésiter!"

"Hostel położony jest w maleńskiej górskiej wiosce, więc cisza i spokój gwarantowane. Nasz apartament był przestronny i posiadał wszystkie podstawowe udogodnienia. Klimat kamiennego domu połączonego z nowoczesnością bardzo nam odpowiadał. Czyściutko. Właściciel Dušan to niesamowicie pozytywny i pomocny człowiek."

"Das Hostel befindet sich in einem netten kleinen Dorf in landschaftlich sehr schöner Umgebung. Perfekt zum Wandern und gut als Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen in Slovenien (Meer, Höhlen, Lipizaner,...). Sehr familiengeeignet. Der Vermieter Dusan Bitenc spricht mehrere Sprachen, hilft gerne von Waschen bis zu Trampolinen für die Kinder und ist ein hervorragender Gesprächspartner. Wir kommen gerne wieder dort hin."
