"I am not a breakfast person so I did not take any just the African tea. This place is extremely underrated. It is a nature lover's dream. It is clean, quiet and serene. You have a balcony with comfortable chairs to chill and enjoy the sound of the waves from the Kivu lake and birds chirping. The staff are very friendly. I traveled with my elderly mother who had some medical emergency in the middle of the night and the hotel totally accommodated us. It was so unfortunate we were there for only 1 night. We had way more for the value of our money and I will be back soon."

"Very large apartment (more like a villa) 3 bedrooms with a bathroom en-suite each. Fantastic view on lake Kivu and beautiful garden. We loved the quiet surroundings. Master bedroom has great view on the lake. Breakfast and dinner were served at our own patio. We had a nice swim in the lake."

"Incredibly friendly and courteous staff. The location is spectacular and at the same time very quiet. You are a good bit outside of Gisenyi. The view of Lake Kivu is great. The food was very delicious and always freshly prepared. There are also fresh fruit and the associated fresh fruit juices."

"We had such a lovely time at Nena House with Francoise as a welcoming hostess for our travel group of 4 adults and 6 kids (9-16). Being in touch with Francoise while planning the trip was very pleasant and professional. It was very nice she checked out dinner plans on the day we arrived before hand. The traditional houses are a delight, clean and with mosquito nets. The facilities are basic, and fine. The neighbor bar is nice for some festive vibes and a drink. The food is delicious. Eating breakfast in the garden with the beautiful view on the Rwandan hills is like paradise. Francoise is very kind in informing about local walks and in our case we where lucky enough to be there while there was a yearly harvest festival. She offered to go with us. We will never forget the experience of seeing the ceremony and traditional dancing and meeting some people in the village. If you plan a visit or are traveling through Ruhashia (near Kings Palace) we can highly recommend Nenas house!"

"Monica and Nobert are amazing hosts. They are always there to help you. They know a lot about the area and the country so their advices are always welcomed. They are really nice to talk to and share a meal with. They have 2 nice kids. Like Monica told me, « they are a home, not an hotel » and it’s way better that way! :) The room was clean and confortable. The included breakfast was really delicious and huge and it changed every day. They offer to cook for you if you want to eat dinner with them which is really great. They offer a twin lakes tour which was amazing with a lot of informations."
