"Annie our host was very attentive to all our needs and was very friendly and accommodating. Provided us with everything we needed for our stay. Location was near the car ferry and only a short drive to Russell."

"Beautiful garden, secluded and peaceful with shelter if needed. Just the sound of the tui and other birds. Bed was big and comfortable. It’s a studio flat effectively but well laid out with character and had everything we needed. Annie was a great host and friendly. 5 miles from Russell and very handy for the Opua ferry. Easy to find and easy parking. I would highly recommend as a base to explore the area as it’s an oasis to return to after a busy day!"

"Excellent studio under the house. Very private with patio sun chairs, table and sun umbrella. Shade trees all around with heaps of bird song. Small oven and cook top, was all we needed. Short trip into Russell for beautiful walk around town. Left via the ferry two minutes away at the bottom of the hill to Opua. Just might need some fly spray as we left the doors open into the evening and the mossies joined us. Not there during the day."

"If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay on the Coromandel peninsula, this is it. The Lodge is quite large with everything you could need: kitchenette, couch and TV, comfy bed, large bathroom (tub + huge shower), terrace and the a spectacular view of Whitianga! As you would expect, it was very quiet, and the layout is such that, that you can enjoy total privacy. Carol and Warren were very welcoming and we had a nice chat every morning with Warren as he brought us a lovely breakfast. The road up the lodge is fairly steep but it wasn't an issue at all, so if you have a decent car I wouldn't worry about it. While in our particular case, we didn't have the best weather throughout the stay, we appreciated that the lodge is furnished so as to feel like home, which made for a cozy day in. I could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the furnishing and decorating of the lodge!"
