Lodge in Malawi

"This magical place in the hills is owned and run by Thierry who puts a great deal of care, detail and consideration into his guest's stay. His love of the land, plants and animals is evident. Thierry gave us a tour of the property plus an amazing breakfast which included a whole tasting activity with different jams and chocolate / cheese spreads ! The bed was very comfortable. We loved the jucazzi at night whilst stargazing We enjoyed relaxing in the morning looking out over the view."

Please note if you are walking it is a steep climb back up the hill.

"This place is magical. It is suited in the beautiful nature, when you wake up in the morning you only hear the birds singing. But the same time you are the city center in a few muinutes. I love the community style. You are allowed to use the drinks and snackbar anytime and on the base of trust you pay at the check out. I arrived from germany, and without any more costs, a late check in was possible. The owners were very nice and helped out with any questions. I definitly comming back and I warmly recommend this place!! ;-) Thank you."

"La struttura è nuovissima e ben arredata in stile Coloniale . Colazione in camera fatta sul terrazzino adorabile . I proprietari gentilissimi e disponibili . Posizione fantastica perché tutto è raggiungile in circa 10/15 minuti di auto : i beach club piú belli , i ristoranti più interessanti , Gustavia e l’aeroporto . Pulizia giornaliera perfetta . Asciugamani grandi e morbidi . Grazie di tutto !"

"Un posto meraviglioso , un oasi di pace e tranquillità, la gentilezza e professionalità di tutto il personale rende il soggiorno ancora migliore , le villette sono stupende e confortevoli , la colazione veramente ottima , e la proprietaria Agnes una signora davvero cordiale simpatica e premurosa , e anche la figlia , grazie davvero per il miglior soggiorno mai avuto , torneremo sicuramente"

Personale assente, per pagare siamo dovuti andare in centro nell'altro albergo ed anche li aspettare che arrivasse qualcuno, pulizia da migliorare, è difficile capire cosa sia a disposizione degli ospiti o cosa sia di qualche invisibile abitante.

"Everything. In summer, when the site is full of campers, the view from the cabin would be obscured by tents. But, end of September, when we visited, our view was green lawns sloping down to the river. Lovely."

Booking.com told us it was 7 miles from Vianden. It is not. 22-24 depending which route you choose. We had planned to go the 7 miles back to Vianden for dinner, but 22 winding miles? No.

Essendo il posto immerso nella natura,bisogna tener conto della presenza di formiche e qualche ragno nei bungalow

"Accoglienza buona.Siccome avevano appena finito di costruire la nostra stanza ci hanno invitati al banchetto di inaugurazione con tanto cibo.La.stabza era accogliente e pulita."

Mancavano alcune cose nella stanza tipo un attaccapanni ma essendo i primi ad esserci stati probabilmente dovevano finire le ultime cose.

"L'appartamento è delizioso, dotato di tutto il necessario e anche oltre il necessario. Arredato divinamente, molto confortevole. Non è sul mare (e lo sapevamo) ma sinceramente abbiamo molto apprezzato la tranquillità ed il silenzio. In macchina comunque si arriva ovunque in poco tempo. Se dovessimo tornare ad Aruba certamente non avremmo dubbi a riprenotare qui. Grazie di tutto!!!"

"The host was super friendly and helpful! He helped us arrange room bookings further up the trek and even managed to get us direct flight tickets from Lukla to Kathmandu. Everything went really smoothly — would definitely recommend this place!"

"very good location uphill, very far from street noise. we enjoyed seaview and city lights at horizon, that fara we could see from the highest small house. we got some hammocks up there and were having fun next to the amazing nature whilst chilling on the balcony, thanks to guys who secured our stay"

"Breakfast was fine - just remember to inform the owner the day before if you require breakfast. Ingrid, the co-owner, is a lovely woman and a fine, traditional cook. You will never leave the table hungry! Whilst she can offer beer at an extra cost, we tended to buy our own along with wine to drink at dinner. Again, you will need to inform Ingrid on the day if you require dinner later. There is no choice; me and my wife are both omnivores with no allergies or intollerances, and always liked what she prepared! Our lodge was spacious with a generous deck overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the sea in the background."

A small fridge in our lodge would have been a great bonus - however, we were free to use Ingrid's fridge. The shower was also a little on the dribbly side!
