Nestled amidst forest and lake bordering the national park and close to the quieter Katagamuwa gate, Leopard Trails tented camp allows guests to experience the wilderness in comfortable air conditioned deluxe tents or in larger suites with plunge pools. Expert naturalists lead shared game drives, nature walks, give an introduction to stargazing, and also host guests for drinks around the campfire, before dining by candlelight! An approximate 4 hours’ drive from the Colombo city and the Bandaranaike International Airport, Leopard Trails is situated in the perfect location which is easily accessible from any point even from the Mattala Rajapakse International Airport just being 1 hr away from the camp. The spacious tents are all air conditioned with private bathroom facilities and seating area for each tent. Besides safari drives, guests can enjoy games and activities arranged by the property or relax in the lounge area with a cocktail or fine wine from the fully stocked bar. We have two types of tents at Leopard Trails Yala camp: The Leopard Trails Suites and Deluxe Tents.

"Great experience for a night. The guide was very knowledgeable during the safari, the room was awesome (the kids loved the plunge pool) and the food was very tasty. There are only 8 rooms available, which enhances the feeling of exclusivity and peaceful surroundings."

"Services provided in the camp were excellent, room well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Staff were attentive throughout and the standard of the food was exceptional. Our guide for 3 Jeep safaris was amazing, highly knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure throughout our stay also taking care of everything at the camp as well. A nod to our excellent driver who made sure we saw as much as possible on the trips. Camp tucked away up a bumpy dirt track away from tourist area. From our personal experience it is not at all surprising this place has achieved it’s high accolades from a variety of prestigious travel guides 👏"

We learned a lot during the safari with him. The staff were very caring and accomodating on specific diet and dietary requirements and the food was very good. "Il nostro soggiorno a Yala Wild House è stato meraviglioso. Siamo arrivate e siamo state subito accolte dall’host e dai suoi adorabili cani con una stupenda passeggiata (walking safari) a Yala National Park, che confina con la struttura, dove abbiamo visto animali e l’host ci ha raccontato della sua storia nel luogo. Al nostro ritorno abbiamo mangiato una cena buonissima e dopodiché l’host ha suonato un tamburo per noi coinvolgendoci con il suo adorabile spirito. Ha organizzato per noi il safari la mattina dopo, e ci ha portato la colazione al sacco, poi al nostro ritorno in struttura ci ha fatto trovare un’altra colazione, sempre buonissima. Il nostro soggiorno è stato breve, ma l’accoglienza dell’host e la meraviglia della struttura e della natura che la circonda sono state veramente memorabili e sicuramente lo consiglieremmo a chiunque!!! È stata veramente un’esperienza unica che poteremo sempre nel nostro cuore."

"Abbiamo trascorso una notte al Camp Leopard nello Yala National Park ed è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. Abbiamo alloggiato in una delle tende del camp: semplice ma molto confortevole e soprattutto pulita. Lo staff è stato estremamente carino e accogliente fin dal nostro arrivo, facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio. L’atmosfera del camp immerso nella natura rende il soggiorno ancora più speciale, perfetto per chi vuole vivere l’esperienza del parco in modo autentico. Un’ottima scelta per chi visita lo Yala National Park e vuole provare l’esperienza di dormire in tenda senza rinunciare al comfort. Consigliato!"
