"I stayed 4 weeks during the winter. The family are very hospitable and Janyl speaks fluent English. The hostel was always clean and warm, there is 24 hour hot water. Big lockers, bed curtains, big well equipped kitchen, big garden, washing machine."

Walkable distance to the town centre. Excellent hosts, they have readily info on mashrutka schedules and costs. The lady host helped book a guesthouse for me in Altyn Arashan Valley."

"Everything was just perfect. That’s the best Hostel in Karakol. Janyl and her husband are the nicest ! You feel like home. They do everything to make your trip more comfortable. She speaks fluent English and helped a lot for arranging the Ala kul trek and the other main attractions of the region. You can even let your luggage while on trek. Facilities are amazing with a huge kitchen, beautiful garden, great dormitory with very comfy beds, curtains, plugs, and lockers. Great private rooms too. Bathrooms/showers were really nice, modern, and clean. Location is peaceful and walking distance to the city center. Everything is nearby. I came back 3 times there, and will come back again ! Recommend 100%. The high ranking is much deserved. Just go for it. Thank you ! :)"

"The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hostel is very quiet and we slept well in the double room, but I guess the dorm was quiet as well, as we have not listened to any noise. The toilets and showers are perfectly clean. We also used the kitchen and, even if we usually wash pot, dishes and cutlery before use, we found all pretty clean."

"The lady who looks after the place is very friendly and super helpful. I struggled to book a train (maybe my foreign card?) and the owner booked it for me after I gave her the money. She also speaks great English. Very comfortable bed. Generally pleasant place to stay, calm vibe about the place. Great if you want to get sorted for the long hikes in the area."
