"Gorgeous view!! Loved having the private pool and outside space to relax. Friendly staff at check in and check out. Would definitely come back here if I’m staying on Curacao again! Loved the coffee machine with milk foamer, ideal for ice coffee’s :)"

- Confusing check in. Drove all the way down to then have to drive all the way back up again? - Got told on check in that they have a fair use electric policy. I asked for further info about how much usage that meant and how much I would have to pay extra but the staff could not clarify, only that we should use aircon max of 12 hrs a day. We are sensible with electric, but still made me wonder if we had to pay at end of stay. (We didn’t have to luckily) - Could not turn off outside lights and it bothered me as the room wasn’t very dark because of that. (Also thought they were concerned about electric usage??) I asked the question but never got a reply from them… I would recommend improving these points, but we still had an amazing stay!!

"La casa è molto bella, grande, pulita, ben arredata, allineata ad un standard europeo medio-alto. Potrete godervi la terrazza sul tetto, e le piscine (queste ultime sono illuminate di notte), tutti gli ambienti sono molto curati: camere ampie, salotto ben arredato, cucina elegante e funzionale, fuori da ogni camera ci sono sedie e tavolino per abbandonarsi a un momento di serenità e l'ambiente esterno delle piscine è ben equipaggiato con sdraio, pagoda, gazebo con divano e bancone da cucina a vista. Dal primo piano della casa fino alla terrazza sul tetto si può ammirare una bella vista sul Nilo e immergersi nella pace della natura circostante. Lo staff è numeroso e molto disponibile e attento, Mohamed può organizzare tutte le attività possibili per voi: taxi, gita in felucca, gita sulla mongolfiera, guida turistica, visite guidate ecc.. Mohamed è inoltre molto attento a suggerire delle soluzione che evitino ogni tipo di problema al turista."

Nonostante il servizio sia molto buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo non è soddisfacente, la casa merita tutto il prezzo pagato ma il problema sorge per ogni attività aggiuntiva che richiede un costo molto elevato e non è chiaro se si possa contrattare o meno. In particolare, l'unico modo per muoversi è il taxi e le opzioni offerte da loro sono molto costose senza un apparente motivo. Inoltre, siamo stati invitati a non uscire non accompagnati nel villaggio, quindi è un pochino limitante non poter uscire di casa autonomamente, evidentemente non è sicuro, motivo per cui direi che la posizione non è ottimale, anche perchè è scomoda per fare acquisti di cibo per cucinare e cenare a casa. Infine c'è sempre personale che gira per casa quindi è difficile avere intimità.

"Lovely, comfortable, big appartment and view over Texel Airfield / Skydive Drop-Zone. We chose it as our son skydives and we had family doing tandems. Its a good base for the whole island and an interesting place to be but if you want to walk to restaurants in the evening better to be in De Koog or Den Burg. For our purpose it was great. Our skydiver even managed to get a early jump in before the Texel Half Marathon he was running! The price is right for the quality of appartment but Texel is generally dear."

There was a window open in the bathroom which we had not spotted and the appartment was full of mosquitos which was odd given we are end of September. The freezer door was jammed with ice.

"The host Greg answered all of our questions and was always available for help! The bedrooms are fair sized and all with bathrooms which is fantastic. The house has many great amenities."

Communal seating arrangements could be better / cosier, as well as outside space would be amazing with a terrace! Sauna had limited hours that we can't control, but is what is!

Nous n'avons vraiment rien à redire sur la maison tant tout y est superbement agencé et ou tout est à notre disposition pour que le séjour se passe superbement bien. Nous n'avons vu aucun points négatifs à cette location.

"Fußläufig in der Altstadt. Sehr gut und mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattetes Ferienhaus. Die Gastgeberin Julia, ihren Mann hatten wir nicht kennengelernt, ist freundlich und hilfsbereit."

Das offene Wohnzimmer und der Essbereich müssen gut geheizt werden, weil die warme Luft nach oben steigt.

The only inconvenience was that we ran out of water and weren't able to use until next morning, and the water tank that was filled during the night overflowed and downpoured on 1 of the rooms causing rapturous noise until we finally got a hold of a staff to close the tube(?).

"Great location, welll appointed, clean and comfortable house. Well managed by a great host. Went the extra mile to assist us with organising a grocery shopping on our behalf on arrival day (we had an early evening arri Al with a 6 hour time difference and an early start work training programme the next day). Enjoyed being there. Wifi was excellent for work purposes. Everything worked and made for an easy and comfortable fault free stay. Will come back if I can."

Nothing the owner can do and more a note about the suburb. Its a nice area but lots of dogs. They can be quite noisy at times at night.

"Che dire di Tortuga? È esattamente come nelle foto: un'oasi di tranquillità, al bordo di una spiaggia nera impressionante e un po' mistica. La notte si viene cullati dal rumore delle onde e di giorno trovi il fresco del pergolato e delle piante nelle quali Tortuga è avvolta. Il ristorante è anche eccellente: mai un piatto uguale all'altro e con dedizione ti spiegano che pesce stai mangiando. Sono arrivato durante il passaggio di consegne tra il precedente proprietario (Roberto) e il nuovo (John). Roberto è stato fantastico, molto disponibile e di piacevole compagnia . John è anche una persona squisita, di rara gentilezza. Auguro a John tutto il meglio per la ripresa dell'attività e a Roberto un buon rientro e in bocca al lupo con i progetti futuri. Inoltre, ci tengo a felicitare Valdir, il giovane che aiuterà John nella gestione di Tortuga. Sempre con il sorriso e disponibile, sta imparando al meglio tutti i "segreti" di Roberto."

"We had a very spacious appartment. The location is amazing you can walk everywhere and start cross country skiing right at the appartment. For us it was a very nice stay and we would come again!"

Overall the appartment came into the years a little bit. Some lights were not working so well for example, the sauna was hard to get very hot and the fan in the bathroom did not work. We did not mind very much but maybe there should be some maintenance works done in the nearer future.

La contrapartida a las buenas vistas es subir arriba. Es necesario coche (lo teníamos). El único “pero” era la extraña dependencia de generadores eléctricos para tener agua corriente dentro de casa. Tras la tormenta hubo que usar generador y andar cambiando bombonas de gas (pero el duelo, Steve, se encargó de ello)

"Boendet ligger i Regent som ligger lite högre upp i bergen jämfört med Freetown. Det gör att det är lite svalare och inte så tryckande värme som nere i stan. Det är visserligen en bit att köra om man ska in i centrum, men samtidigt är det inte så mycket bilköer som inne i stan. Värdarna tog hand om oss på ett bra sätt och huset vi hyrde hade rätt bra standard. Hög standard för att vara i Sierra Leone."

Jag har inte något som jag inte tyckte om. Möjligen att du måste ha tillgång till egen transport om du enkelt ska ta dig till och från boendet.

"Amazing place- very special. Large accommodation. Loved having ac in the bedrooms. Well equipped. Lots of wildlife in the garden, we woke one morning to a whole troupe of howler monkeys in the tree above our house and we were able to sit in the lookout area and watch them. Great location - very close to beach and cafes. Owner responsive and helpful."

Kitchen equipment could do with a bit of a refresh - eg chopping boards. And it's more expensive than anywhere else we stayed - but it was totally worth it, we loved it.
