"The location just off the highway was perfect for me and I was able to book it on the travel day. There was a comfortable family vibe and the staff was extremely friendly. They made me perfect fried eggs for breakfast, served in a beautifully decorated room that had a large selection of bread, jams, cheeses, meat cuts, yoghurt, cereals, fresh juice, different kinds of coffee and tea."

The main entrance was closed at arrival, so I had to find the barn door to get in. There are parking spaces in front of the property, but if you arrive during dinner service, these might be taken by restaurant guests.

"The host was excellent friendly and communicative. The accommodation was well laid out and easily accessible. Breakfast was good and on time!"

Access was an initial challenge as this was not automated so you cannot let yourself in and had to wait until someone respond to the telephone! A ringing doorbell at the gate or at the front door would be helpful!

"It is the treatment by everyone for me. I appreciate them one by one for making me and my kids feel at home away from a home 1700 km away. We felt so welcome, and yes this is always the case"

Non facile da trovare, palazzo un po' fatiscente

"Amazing location right on the beach, quiet surroundings yet not too far away from shops, restaurants and the city center. The house was spacious and clean with A.C., a fan and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge. Mr. Dagobert was very kind and welcoming, he also picked us up from the station. Thank you, it was a really nice stay!"

Keep in mind the accomodation is very basic and I think some renovations could be done, for instance our room didn’t have mosquito nets.

"Nothing fancy about the breakfast. It was very fresh and clean though. Burger, boiled egg, milk pudding, banana and self-served drinks."

We did not come across anything we disliked although the room wasn’t as spacious as what it seemed on the web.

Essendo un appartamento, farei trovare un ombrellone per la spiaggia, noi ne abbiamo acquistato uno e lasciato in struttura magari per i clienti futuri, ed anche un paio di sdraiette sempre per la spiaggia, molto utili visto che solo Mullet Bay e Great Bay sono attrezzate e per chi non voglia spendere tutti i giorni 25/30 dollari per ombrellone e lettino e voglia apprezzare le diverse spiagge presenti sull'isola. Anche una borsa termica per il cibo non sarebbe male

"Since I read the book who the owner Dorota wrote, I really wanted to visit Vanilla House. And it was as I imagined, even better!!! The sound of the ocean at night...The breeze.. The food... The view... I loved it!!!!"

Cuscino molto scomodo

"Located in a quiet, idyllic location near the town center, it felt like a little retreat every time we returned home. It’s a spacious house which keeps cool due to the tiling and multiple doors you can open. We didn’t need air con in September. We could close the gates so the dogs couldn’t get in, this allowed the kids to play outside. The three year old was so excited to have swings. After time in the outer islands we really needed to freshen up, so the showers and washing machine were helpful. There was good amounts of drying space, the kitchen was fully functional, and we were given our space to enjoy our holiday."

Tonga is super basic so expectations of any accomodation need to keep this in mind.

regolare la temperature della doccia in uno dei due bagni è stato un pochino difficile.

"We enjoyed staying at this quirky guest house. We were warmly met by the friendly owner and had plenty of space to hang out for the day we were there, waiting to catch a shuttle to Belize City. I say quirky because in our mini apartment, there was a bed in the kitchen ( as well as our bed in the bedroom), and there is an old US school bus in the garden. But it felt quirky rather than derelict. It's a 5min taxi ride to the bus terminal in town or a 20-minute walk. We chose the Taxi option. It's also close to a good bakery, and you can see the supermarket from the hammocks in the garden. There is a fabulous restaurant called Hambre which is a 20 min walk."

There was nothing we didn't like, but this place will not appeal to everyone. It feels local, and maybe a little dated, but it was spacious, safe, and clean, and everything we needed.

È una soluzione ideale per chi cerca tranquillità senza rinunciare alla vicinanza ai servizi. La mia camera era ampia, accogliente e dotata di acqua calda e connessione wi-fi stabile. Inizialmente abbiamo avuto un piccolo problema con la doccia, ma il personale ha gestito la situazione in maniera impeccabile: ci hanno subito spostati in una stanza ancora migliore, dimostrando grande attenzione verso gli ospiti. Il personale sempre disponibile e sorridente, inclusa la proprietaria, molto attenta e presente nei contatti. Tornerei sicuramente!"

"Soggiorno fantastico in una vera casa in stile cipriota avvalorato dalla gentilezza e disponibilità che ci ha donato lo staff. Ogni mattina preparano la colazione con offerte diverse ogni giorno ed adattabili alle vostre necessità. Il paesino di Maroni è piccolo e accogliente, offre una tranquillità serale perfetta per staccare. Come posizione una ottimale via di mezzo per visitare le diverse parti dell’isola, per cui si rende necessaria la machina. Se invece siete interessati al mare ed alle spiagge ve ne sono diverse raggiungibili a pochi minuti di macchina. Super consigliato, ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo!"

The wildlife is right on your porch, we saw howler monkeys’s, white faced monkeys, agouti, iguanas and lots of birds. The pool is perfect for cooling off after a day exploring Montezuma. The cabins itself was very comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the hammock! It was very well kitted out with everything we needed for cooking as a family of 3 and the pre chilled bottle of water in the fridge was greatly appreciated on our arrival. Location wise it is perfectly situated only 5 min away from shops and supermarkets where you can get all you need and in the pother direction (around a 3 min drive) is Montezuma, with loads of delicious places to eat and lots of stunning places to explore. We most definitely felt at home here and didn’t want to leave"

"A very warm and helpful host who gave us great support. My mother unfortunately injured herself while hiking and he didn't hesitate for long and applied hot compresses with salt. As she could no longer walk, he even gave her a walking frame and drove us personally to the train station on our departure. The location was great. A bit away from the busy main street and yet everything is within walking distance."

I wish I could’ve stayed longer. However I wished the shower head had more water power behind it the water ran slowly and it was hard to catch warm and hot water. I would have personally liked air conditioning, however overall it was a nice stay.

"Good location by the sea which is not far from the main street of Palau where you can find restaurants and groceries (less than 10 minutes walking). Huge room and comfy beds. The staff is really friendly and he dropped us off at the airport. No complaints"
