XIMEL House

"Abbiamo soggiornato per tre notti in questa struttura, una casa con due camere separate,cucina in comune e bagno in comune. Tutto molto spazioso,i proprietari sono accoglienti e gentili. Bisogna prendere una barca per arrivarci,ma al momento del check-in e il checkout non si paga nulla, per il resto costa 10 pesos. Il posto è molto silenzioso e la notte si dorme bene. Lo consiglio!"

"Amazing stay, right on the other side of the Island of Flores. The boat rides in the morning and evening to the island were the highlight of the day. House was well equipped and host is lovely."

"Wonderfully welcoming and helpful hosts. Messaged me in advance, met me early in the morning, allowed me to check in at 09:30. Room was very comfortable, sharing kitchen and bathroom with one other room. Seriously, Hilda couldn’t have done more for me and I would go back to Flores just to stay here again. Oh, and the towels … lovely, soft towels."

"Absolutely everything. The cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. Lovely large room, spotless bathroom, kitchen facilities were good. We were collected from the island by Hilda’s husband even though we arrived at a very early time. Hilda put us in touch with someone who booked and sorted our Tikal tour (which was also fantastic). Whilst you’re not staying directly in Flores this side is much more relaxed, everything is cheaper, felt more authentic. Brilliant free tour of an ongoing excavation which is like Tikal, and it’s only a short boat ferry over the water for Q10 pp. would highly recommend"

"Hilda and Elvis were very accomodating and helpful, and just lovely people in general. They picked us up late, and helped us organise our Tikal tour. The property is very clean and comfortable, and is in a safe area. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself if you would like. The beds were very comfortable as well."

"I initially stayed in Flores for two night and then spent the next two nights in Ximel. After arriving, I honestly wish I spent the whole time at the Ximel apartment. They are wonderful hosts that made me feel right at home. The apartment is is a beautiful location right on the lake, if you want to get to Flores it’s a 5/10 min boat ride across the lake - though it’s wonderful to explore the San Miguel side too. If you’re feeling unsure, I would 100% recommend. I wish I could’ve stayed longer!"

"The Wi-Fi was good for basic needs just when I needed to make a video call it was a bit of a tricky connection, but otherwise worked fine"

"Lovely, clean place with good WiFi and free water, spacious room and comfortable beds. It's not "in" Flores, you need to take a 5 minute boat ride - which we were 100% ok with but just be advised of this in case you thought you were booking a place actually in Flores."

"We had an excellent stay at Ximel house. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. They were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable. We were offered a lift however we were already in Flores so got the boat across which was very easy and dropped us right outside the house. The area is nice and quiet and only a short walk away from el mirador and playa el chechenal. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting the area. Lovely people and a lovely stay, thank you."

"Ximel House was spacious, comfortable, quiet, and convenient. Despite being a boat ride from the island, there was no problem getting on the earliest Tikal tour. Shops and cheap places to eat are a short stroll away, and it's not far to the mirador from where you can see beautiful sunsets and look down on Flores. Hilda and Elvis are lovely hosts and can help arrange tours, onward travel, and anything else you might need. If you have any concerns about not being on the island you can forget them."

"We just had the best time there. Probably the best apartment we had so far on our current travels. The hostess is such a lovely lady and help us out with everything, she even did our washing and offered us to help with booking tours. Everyone travelling to Flores we would absolutely recommend the stay at Ximel House! The house is also right next to the lake, Lanchas right infront of your front door."
