"Hotel set on a very busy road. I know that fire doors have to be solid but the doors were very heavy and practically impossible for me to hold open and pass through."

"The hotel is what you expect from a 2 star french hotel. The staff great check-in was straightforward. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of storage for a couple of days stay. We opted to pay for breakfast, which was good value with quality food. The location for Royat was ideal, and the parking was good."

"The rooms were on the small side and a little bit old fashioned in decoration. The shower cubicle was very small, and the power of the water was low in the shower."

"A hidden gem. Looks tatty from the outside but rooms are clean and spacious. Evening meal was truly excellent. New chef about a year ago apparently and his menu is excellent. Breakfast is very basic but OK (obviously without the chef!). Very reasonably priced and nice gardens and stream opposite for a stroll with/without a dog."

"The hotel was good and the staff were very good. The location overlooked a park and was very close to cafes and restaurants."

"Parking available just outside the property. Able to communicate with the reception even though English was not spoken. Good size room, comfortable bed,hot shower. The menu for the evening meal was translated into English which was extremely helpful. Breakfast was varied and good quality. Great location very near to the town centre."
