"What a lovely chalet, and such views! It was hot when we stayed at chez alphonse, and we really loved the terasse which is in the shade as it has a ‘roof’. The chalet has everything you need for cooking and even has a washing machine. The cute village of Thones is 5 min drive and has some decent dining options. We had a lovely time!"

"We only had a 2 night stay here but it was lovely. The views were incredible and it was so relaxing sitting on the veranda in the evening listening to crickets and watching bats. The host was very kind and has plenty of information. There was a nice river walk in to Thones where you can do your shopping if cooking at the accommodation. We would have loved to have stayed longer."

"We struggled to find the place initially because there was no house number/name on the lane so it was difficult to know which was the property. Luckily the host heard our motorbikes and found us. Because we were only there 2 nights, we had to pay extra for the property to be cleaned, or do it ourselves which we did. The only issue was we had to take all rubbish to a recycling point. This was only difficult because we were on motorbikes with no spare carrying capacity. We had to walk towards the town the evening before we left to dispose of this. You just need to be aware, it's a French thing. Regardless, we now know and would not hesitate to go back."

"Stunning location with beautiful views. Private appartement that was spacious, welcoming, immaculately clean, uncluttered, and tastefully decorated. Hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, but unobtrusive and gave us our privacy."

"Without doubt, the most stunning balcony you'll ever sit on. Chez Alphonse is a diamond in the mountains. The accommodation has everything you may need and much more, the bed was large and comfortable, the shower was large and sumptuous, the kitchen was fully functional, the living room was a joy to relax in and watch dvds in the evening on a really good size screen. But the balcony,, you need to experience it to believe it, the view of mountains all around you and not just in the distance but right in front of you! The photos of the views from the balcony don't come close to the actual views, they are stunning. Sabine the host is warm and welcoming and if you like cheese she will tell you where to get the best."
