Situated 100 metres from the beach along Durban's Golden Mile, The Edward overlooks the Indian Ocean. Decorated in an Art Deco style, the residenza features features a panoramic roof-top pool, ideal for sunbathing and sundown cocktails. Guests will add their name to the long list of princes and presidents, millionaires and celebrities that stayed overnight since The Edward opened its doors in 1911. Half of the recently refurbished rooms offer uninterrupted ocean views. They are all decorated in a classic style with wooden features and rich fabrics, but also include satellite flat-screen TVs and an intimate reading area. Facilities of the agriturismo also include a gym and room service. Guests can enjoy walking or cycling on the promenade adjacent to the locanda. On-site parking and an airport shuttle are available for a surcharge. King Shaka International Airport is located 32 km away while uShaka Marine World and ICC Durban are both 1.5 km away.

"E' un hotel storico del 1908, in stile art déco. Sicuramente la migliore posizione di tutta la città! Si affaccia direttamente sull'Oceano Indiano e la più bella spiaggia di Durban. Tutto lo staff estremamente professionale, gentile, disponibile e discreto. Camera luminosa, spaziosa e con una bellissima vista sull'oceano e le piscine cittadine sottostanti. I letti e i cuscini molto comodi. Comodo anche il bagno. Eccellente la pulizia! Sul posto un ottimo ristorante con i prodotti freschi e i pasti curati ad ogni minimo particolare! Da consigliare vivamente! Tanti complimenti agli chefs! Garantiscono anche pasti senza glutine. Ottima colazione, molto varia e copiosa. La piccola piscina al settimo piano è un bel posto dove rilassarsi dopo una giornata di visita in città. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo! Non cercate altrove, andate direttamente da The Edward! Consiglio vivamente!"
